Locked In A Room: Stealing The Keys

You point to the guard as he passes by your cell. Panther nods as she crouches next to the door frame. You grab what looks to be a leg from what used to be a bed frame. You hand it over to Panther. “Guard! We’re done eating. You can grab our trays. The guard unlocks the door and opens it. Panther smashes the leg on the guard’s head. “Grab the keys!” She screams and you frantically look on his body. “They aren’t here! Where are they?” You start to scream. Panther looks around his body as you notice “They’re in the lock still.” You take the keys. “Run, Panther!” You begin running down the hall as Panther is still searching the body. “Panther, come on. We have to leave before the other guards’ notice.” “I’m getting a weapon. We probably will need one or two!” She screams. “Whatever, you have a knife now. We gotta go.”

You two narrowly escape the prison. You feel the wind in your shaggy silver hair. Too bad they trimmed it when you got in there. Panther’s long black is flowing in the wind. “Your hair is very pretty, you know.” You say as she looks away from the valley up ahead. “Thanks, but there’s no time for romance. We have to get back to where we came from. I have a family to protect from thieves.” “I didn’t mean it like that.” You are now embarrassed. Congratulations. “We don’t even know where we are. We could be in Lorich, or Achidia.” You throw your arms in the air as she sighs. “We’re nearby my home. I get thrown in here every other week or two. Typically I use the mush to escape through the bars. How did you get here?” You run your hand through your hair “No clue. I’m a traveling merchant. I was on my way to taking a delivery to Lilywood.” “Lilywood? That’s four or fives towns east. How did you get this far?” Panther puts her hair into a tight bun on her head. She looks fierce, like a wolf stalking her prey. “No clue, but we can start walking to where your home is. Where is it?” You two start walking. She clears her throat “Brent Forest.”

You two make it to the small, dark town of Brent Forest. You and Panter are walking through town square as a shrew-like woman crawls out of the darkness. “They are waiting, Miss Reine.” “Thank you, Abigale. Come along, Dakota.” You follow Panther and Abigale. “Reine?” You whisper in Panther’s ear. “Only my family calls me that. It’s my first name, but I prefer my middle name.” The three of you are silent as you walk up to the gates of a large manor. “Meet Brent Forest Estate. My family owns the forest. They like it dark.” Panther begins to speak. “You said you had to protect a family earlier.” “My son and daughter. My parents murdered my husband and forced my children and me back into the house. My children don’t need their maternal grandparents.” “I’m sorry, Panther. How long have you been battling your parents?” The doors to the manor open to a largely lit hall full of browns, and oranges. “I can’t count how many times they’ve thrown me in prison. They can’t know you’re here. Where would you like to sleep? My room or the attic?

Where do you sleep?
